Performs best in full sun or part shade, in moist, fertile, humusy, organically rich, neutral to slightly acidic, well-drained soils. After blooming, the grass-like foliage, consisting of sturdy clumps of upright gray-green, narrow and fairly rigid, blade-shaped leaves, is also one of its most attractive garden features as it remains fresh-looking all season. Blooming in late spring to early summer, the gorgeous flowers rise on sturdy flower stalks, well above the foliage. Tips to get your spuria irises to bloom: (1) Don't plant the rhizomes too deep, (2) Provide enough light, (3) Don't over-fertilize (4) Divide your plants when overcrowded.Iris sibirica 'Blue Moon' (Siberian Iris) is a clump-forming perennial with bright violet-blue blossoms adorned with deep purple veins and delicate pale yellow signals at the base of each fall.May be attacked by slugs, snails and thrips and be subject to gray molds, mustard seed fungus or crown rot.Propagate by division of rhizomes from mid summer to early fall
